Benoit Glazer has graciously asked me for a piece for his family ensemble, and I'd composed three short works, titled "Three Lessons" for him earlier this year. But the rush of night classes and a busy home life did not permit me to spend as much time as I'd have liked on these works. I have begun a "Fourth Lesson" which will be full of articulated counterpoint to balance the other three works.
Here's how it's coming so far (Trumpet, Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello). This is rough and still in process - and just from the opening section. I may yet toss it, change it, move it.
