LMO wk4 UDUTU experience
UDUTU is a free course design, implementation and delivery tool at www.udutu.com

I have no plans to use udutu as a professional educator, but might employ this excellent system for other endeavors. I chose the topic "How to Meditate" because I wanted to see how the system could deliver a no-fail course that had specific instructions. I also enjoy the practice and learned a few things along the way I didn't know.

I chose the "Best Practice Path" model because of these two qualities:
1. This path, through questions, reinforced the correct answers without penalizing
2. A specific linear path would allow the unfolding of one technique at a time, in order. Good, since meditation contains a specific sequence of techniques

Many things about udutu I liked:
The use of flash and .mov files
Easy conditional jumping routines
Lots of good archetectures
Easy to use
Free
Shareable on FaceBook without a watermark

Things I did not like:
Small media file size limitations (well, it was free)
Rebuilding a partially deleted tree proved difficult to match, the hierarchy results that would ensue were not immediately clear
The buttons were finicky as to size. Even the recommended 80 pixel wide image did not format well.
The Facebook application did not have a direct link.

Keith Lay,
Nice job! I like that each screen moves on to the next screen. I got a bit frustrated that I could only take the course in that specific sequence, but I found that since I know nothing of meditation it was valuable to proceed through it in that order. I love how you put music into your lesson. I also like how you set up screens to explain the correct answers. Exceptionally great job! I can tell you put a lot of thought into your lesson and the visuals and media. At the end of the lesson I felt like there should be some way to give you feed back. Thanks so much!

Quite an interesting topic for a lesson. I have to say that your preparation and hard work are evident. I agree with your choosing the Best Practice Path, I really feel like it was the perfect choice for this topic. It allowed a stress-free learning experience, however it was entirely logical.
If I may propose a suggestion, it would have to be to limit the amount of text on the screen at any given phase of the lesson. Too much text on the screen ends up frustrating your efforts in the lesson rather than helping them. Think of the rules of using Powerpoint/Keynote. Otherwise, you created a truly interesting lesson.
